“Create a network around your research idea” (Metti in rete la tua idea di ricerca)

The pilot initiative “Create a network around your research idea” (Metti in rete la tua idea di ricerca) is funded within the framework of the multi-year collaboration between Politecnico di Torino and Compagnia di San Paolo. The initiative is aimed at facilitating synergies among universities, companies and other entities of the socio-economic system, located in Italy and in any other Member States of the EU.

The main instrument for the implementation of the initiative is the Call for proposals “Metti in rete la tua idea di ricerca” which provides funding for 24 months collaborative research projects with an interdisciplinary nature which address new and emerging fields of research.

Projects are proposed by professors and researches of the Politecnico di Torino (Principal Investigator, PI) in the early stage or the consolidation stage of their own research career. In particular, the PI must have been awarded his/her PhD after January 1st 2005.

In addition to the Politecnico di Torino, which acts as coordinator, the project must include two other partners, one located in the national territory and the other one based in a Member States of the European Union different from Italy, of which:

  • one university (public or private) or a non-profit research institution both public or private whose main purpose is to conduct research (“academic partner”),
  • one company or another entity of the socio-economic system (“non-academic partner”).

Projects may address issues related to any research domains in the context of the three domains determined by the ERC (LS – Life Science; PE - Physical Sciences and Engineering; SH – Social Sciences & Humanities).
