Dr. Mainini developed her professional career working in world-class laboratories , contributing to many international collaborations and government grants. She has been working in Europe, US and Singapore on severa! academic, industriai, and government projects sponsored by, among others, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, NASA, and the European Commission. She is currently postdoctoral associate at Massachusetts lnstitute of Technology where she is affiliated to the Aerospace Computational Design Laboratory , Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics . Her main research interests regard multidisciplinary design analysis and optimization, multi-fidelity analysis, real-time autonomous capability assessment and decision-making, multi-information source management.
Recently, as MIT-SUTD Collaboration Fellow, Dr. Mainini has been principal instructor at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and researcher at the MIT-SUTD lnternational Design Centre. As principal instructor, she led, taught and coordinated course 30.205 Aerodynamics , specifically developed as Advanced Elective Course for the Engineering Product Development (EPD) Pillar (Aerospace Technology Track, Mechanical Engineering Track and Self-directed Track) . She also had the responsibility to deliver the course for the first time, adapting it to the innovative and uncommon EPD educational framework. Beyond this recent and particular experience , Dr. Mainini curriculum includes an interesting and diverse background in both teaching and mentoring.
