Federica Ciarcià is an architect specializing in urban planning. She holds a doctorate in architectural and landscape heritage from the Politecnico di Torino created jointly with the Universidad de Belgrano in Buenos Aires and has developed a research thesis on the relationship between Le Corbusier and the Argentine Modern Movement.
She is currently professor and researcher of History of Architecture at the Universidad de Belgrano of Buenos Aires. Her main research topics concern: the architectural and urban heritage, in particular that of the Movement Modern South American and its influences and exchanges with Europe, and urban planning and sustainable mobility.
She is a member of the GPA - Grupo de Patrimonio Argentino and of the OSUBUE - Osservatorio de Sostenibilidad Urbana with which she made a proposal for the Pilot Project lmpacto of the Metrobus sobre and the Corredar de Juan B. Justo de Buenos Aires of the OIBA - Observatory lnmobiliario de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires, UB, 2016}.

Verlinghieri Ersilia

Ersilia Verlinghieri is Research Associate at the Transport Studies Unit, University of Oxford and Senior Research Fellow at the School of Architecture and Cities, University of Westminster. Since 2012, Ersilia's research focuses on developing theoretical and methodological approaches to issues of social and environmental justice in transport. She has published extensively in key journals in the field of transport geography and planning. As visiting fellow at the DIST, Ersilia is involved in two projects that explore urban transformations after covid19, with Turin as a key case study, aiming to develop answers to the current social and environmental crisis from the starting point of urban mobilities. Firstly, utilizing urban political ecology as a framework and with Turin and Barcelona as case
studies, she is analyzing the implication of ideas from heterodox economics, such as degrowth or postgrowth, when adopted in urban and transport planning. Secondly, she working on understanding more in depth the politics and conflicts around pro-active travel interventions via analyzing the experience of the Torino Mobility Lab.


Bozlar Michael

Michael Bozlar is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the University of Texas, Arlington. He is the Director of the Bozlar Nanoscience Lab, dedicated to advancing the area of nanomaterials synthesis, fundamentals, and applications. Prof. Bozlar is a graduate from Ecole Normale Superieure Paris-Saclay and CentraleSupelec (France). His current research programs are centered around the fundamental physics and chemistry of low-dimensional materials e.g., graphene, for various applications in aerospace, energy storage, or electronics. Prof. Bozlar has been collaborating with PoliTo since 2018 in the synthesis and characterization of biocompatible hygroscopic materials for applications in atmospheric water harvesting. He has co-authored over 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals, patents, international conferences. As a Visiting Professor at PoliTo, Prof. Bozlar will offer lectures in materials science and research seminars. He will strive to further advancing his ongoing research activities with DENERG, and also fostering new collaboration opportunities for faculty and students between UT Arlington and PoliTo.

Zibar Darko

Darko Zibar is Associate Professor at the Department of Photonics Engineering, Technical University of Denmark and the group leader of Machine Learning in Photonics Systems (M-LiPS) group. He received M.Sc. degree in telecommunication and the Ph.D. degree in optical communications from the Technical University of Denmark, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He has been on several occasions (2006, 2008 and 2019) visiting researcher with the Optoelectronic Research Group led by Prof. John E. Bowers at the University of California, Santa Barbara, (UCSB). At UCSB, he has been working on topics ranging from analog and digital demodulation techniques for microwave photonics links and machine learning enabled ultra-sensitive laser phase noise measurements techniques. In 2009, he was a visiting researcher with Nokia-Siemens Networks, working on clock recovery techniques for 112 Gb/s polarization multiplexed optical communication systems. In 2018, he was visiting Professor with Optical Communication (Prof. Andrea Carena, OptCom) group, Dipartimento di Elettronica e Telecomunicazioni, Politecnico di Torino working on the topic of machine learning based Raman amplifier design. His research efforts are currently focused on the application of machine learning technqiues to advance classical and quantum optical communication and measurement systems. Some of his major scientific contributions include: record capacity hybrid optical-wireless link (2011), record sensitive optical phase noise measurement technique that approaches the quantum limit (2019) and design of ultrawide band arbitrary gain Raman amplifier (2019). He is a recipient of Best Student paper award at Microwave Photonics Conference (2006), Villum Young Investigator Programme (2012), Young Researcher Award by University of Erlangen-Nurnberg (2016) and European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant (2017). Finally, he was a part of the team that won the HORIZON 2020 prize for breaking the optical transmission barriers (2016).


Anabalón Dupuy Andres Fernando

Professor Anabalón finished his Doctorate in 2007 under the supervision of Jorge Zanelli. In 2008 he moved to the Max Planck Institute for gravitational physics (Albert Einstein Institute) as an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellow. In 2010 he became assistant professor of the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. Since 2015 he is associate professor at the same university and starting from 01 January 2021 he will be Full Professor in the same institute. He has made research stays
of several months in the Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon (2014), KU Leuven (2015), the Politecnico de Torino (2017),the University of Waterloo (2018) and the Albert Einstein Institute (2019). He has been the supervisor of three postdoctoral and one PhD project. He has been the PI of several Chilean research grants as well as one of the coordinators of an international grant that allowed to organize the largest Chilean conference on holography and supergravity. His research has focused on the interaction of black holes with matter fields and its holographic interpretation. More recently he has focused on the study of wormholes in anti de Sitter spacetime. He is international referee of the FNRS, Belgium and participate in the panel of FONDECYT, Chile.

Primdahl Jørgen

Jørgen Primdahl is professor in Countryside Planning and Management at IGN, University of Copenhagen. His background is landscape architecture with a Ph.D. in landscape planning and planning theory. His main research interest is the rural landscape (patterns, functions, and change) and the roles of public policy interventions. Recently he has published on the rural-urban fringe; multifunctionality in rural landscapes; the farmer as landscape manager; impact
models for agri-environmental policy making; intersecting dynamics of agricultural structural changes and urbanisation;landscape strategy making as a rural development approach; and globalisation and rural changes.
In 2010 he co-edited (with Simon Swaffield) the book: Globalisation and Agricultural Landscapes: Change Patterns and Policy Trends in Developed Countries. (Cambridge University Press). In 2016 he co-edited (with Lone Kristensen and Henrik Vejre) a book: Dialogbaseret planlægning i det åbne land. (Bogværket) and he is co-author of a book (with Bas Pedroli and Teresa Pinto-Correia) on European Landscapes in Transition published by Cambridge University Press
2018. He is co-editor (with Lone S. Kristensen and Kamilla Hansen Møller) of Fremtiden Landskaber – visioner og planer for det åbne land (Bogværket 2019).
Over the last 10 years he has been involved in 20 experimental planning projects focusing on new approaches to countryside planning which are more collaborative, policy integrating, and proactive than traditional planning has been.

Palmeri Alessandro

Ranked in the top ten in each of the most recent British league tables and in the top 400 of the World University Rankings 2021, Loughborough University is one of the funding members of UKCRIC, the UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities, by far the largest integrated research initiative funded by the UK government in the sector.

Hui Rongqing

Rongqing Hui is a tenured full professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Kansas in Lawrence Kansas. His research interests are in lightwave communication systems and subsystems, photonic devices,
optical instrumentation and photonic sensors. Prior to joining the faculty of the University of Kansas, he was a member of Scientific Staff at Bell-Northern Research and Nortel Networks. He served as a Program Director
for the Electronics, Photonics, and Devices Technologies (EPDT) program at the US National Science Foundation from 2006 to 2008. He has published more than 100 papers in leading engineering Journals in the
field of photonics and optics. Dr Hui received his PhD degree from the Politecnico di Torino in 1994.
